Greetings everyone! As of late, I have been purchasing movies from the iTunes Store in 1080p format. For some reason, my M11x R3 (with 4 GB RAM and Core i5 processor) delivers a rather choppy output. On plugging in an external power source, there is an improvement in the fps.

I have tried the apple communities and unfortunately they are not able to help. I must also add that I have had no problem playing 1080p H.264 MKV/MP4 files on the laptop.

I will really appreciate any kind of help. Thanks.

Also side question. Where do you get your movies from? iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, torrents or physical media?

Here's a guide to Correctly Setup Games on computers with optimus technology. Use it to make sure iTunes is running correctly.

About the movies, I keep it old school, I like physical media :p

iTunes uses the integrated graphics and I am not sure if I can use a GPU for iTunes playback. Thanks for the advice.

Sounds like your laptop battery performance is set to "Balanced/Power Saver Mode" instead of High performance.

Right click the battery icon in the bottom right hand corner, choose more options and change it to high performance.

Then go into "change plan settings" and make sure everything is maxed performance wise on battery power.
