I just discovered something interesting. When I go into the Nvidia control panel and change the "Preferred graphics processor" to High Performance Nvidia GPU (under Global Settings) I am unable to watch any videos on WMP12. Everytime I try to open any kind of video file, from wmv to mp4 I get an error and that a codec may be missing.

As soon as I change the Preferred graphics processor back to integrated all is well and almost any video format under the sun works - no computer restart required.

Has anyone else found this problem? It's not a giant issue, I was interested in comparing the playback of 1080p videos (stretched on my 2048x1152 monitor) between gpu's. I've noticed slight choppy-ness playing full screen 1080p videos on the integrated gpu and was wondering if it would be improved with the nvidia - too bad I can't test it!

I can't help but recommend Media Player Classic Homecinema.

It provides good performance, but not everybody will like the UI (though I do).

It, however, won't properly accelerate videos using the Intel GPU.
