    Hi all,

I powered up my 2 month old Mx11 r3 the other day and I was greeted with 4 beeps and then a pause and the system wouldn't boot.

I've done some reading and a few people have had a similar issues and reseating the memory seems to resolve the issue. I have 8gb of ram so I decided to try each dimm one buy one. Not to my surprise but the laptop booted with no issues. I then popped in the second dimm and again I was greeted with the same 4 beeps. I then rebooted and managed to get into the diagnostics console. After around 5 mins the check stopped and I received the following error.

    Error Code: 2000-0332
    Validation: 44150
MSG: Video memory - Video memory integrity test discrepancy

If since placed a support call with dell and an engineer is coming to see me tomorrow with 2 new dims and a new motherboad. The support rep also mentioned another user had called with a similar problem

The reason I'm posting is im keen to see if anyone else has experienced the same issues and weather you guys think it's most likely to be the Simms or graphics card ?

Thanks in advanced to anyone that replies.

    Hi All,

Just thought I would give you an update. A dell engineer has been and replaced my MB and memory. He's not too sure what the issues was. :)

MX11 is now back to full health.

Possibly. But it seems weird the laptop worked when I tried them one by one.

I'm gonna open it up when get home and see if they changed the make or speed/type of ram but I doubt it.

it would have been a good idea to check both sticks in each slot to see if it is a slot failure or a stick failure. if stick beeps in both slots = dud stick, if it beeps in one slot but not the other then possible a dud board.

    just a thought.
