I went into the BIOS and set the overclock to 162 gz. I go into Computer Properties and it still shows factory settings.

I tried getting CPU Z to check my cpu processor. Somehow it said i had i7 @ 2.8 Ghz. I have an i5 so this is weird.

Does anyone know a good way to check if your overclock is working?? thanks

    1. Try reinstalling CPU-Z.
    2. Download Throttle Stop. (to use as a performance enhancer and to use to check if your clock is applying)
Computer properties will not tell you anything useful.

The information in the CPU-Z Specification box comes directly from the information written to the CPU by Intel. If this information says you have a Core i7 then you have a Core i7. Post a screen shot.

CPUz reports your bus speed as 162.4mhz. Looks like it worked to me.
