I have two questions that I would really appreciate being answered, when I bought my r2 I only ended up getting the default dell card which hasn't exactly been the pinnacle of performance.

As such my two questions is first, can I myself swap out wireless cards. And the second is that if I can change out my wireless card what would be a good, moderately priced would be best, card that I should buy.

Get the intel 6200 card. Its cheap and much better than the stock dell card.

I tried the Intel 6200 and the AR9287 (Atheros). Either card is great, and I currently use the AR9287 in my m11x R2. I found the signal strength slightly more consistent than with the Intel card. I have never had the connection drop using either card.

As far as replacing the half-mini card, you just unscrew the 8 screws on the bottom panel, remove the panel and you will see the card with the 2 antenna wires attached. gently pull up on the connectors and they should "pop off"

I think there may be 1 or 2 screws holding it down as well. Pretty simple though. I recently replaced the stock heat pads (and all the paste) around the GPU with 1mm copper shims + arctic ceramique and that took quite a bit more work.
