    Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade my SSD shortly from a OCZ Vertex 2 120gb and a Crucial M4 256gb as I will be shifting to using my m11x as my primary computer and need more space and can't stand to go back to a standard HDD.

My question is, how much of a speed increase will I see? where will it be most noticeable?

    Cheers!

Hi, i also used to own a vertex 2 (240gb) and there is a slight increase in speed between the vertex 2 and my current c300 256gb, which i believe is pretty similar to the M4. I mainly notice the speed difference in boot time which is now about 25 secs down from 25 sec. Other than that, in everyday use, and even gaming, there is not that much a difference. I upgraded because i figured it would only cost me $50 by the time i sold the old and bought the new one... so for me it was worth it, but if you're forking out heaps of cash i wouldn't do it... hope that helps.

Hey Bman, cheers for the reply!

Just to clarify, you said 25 seconds down to 25 seconds, did you perhaps mean 15 seconds...?

Thanks for the commentary, so might be worth just going with a SATA II 256gb instead you think...?

I will be sourcing them from PC Case Gear

    So...

    Vertex 2 240gb
    Agility 3 240gb
    Crucial M4 256gb

I don't really want to go any higher than 500 AUD, and the general consensus seems to be that OCZ isn't the best option (although I've had no issues with my Vertex 2), so thought Crucial might be somethign good to go with.
