    Hey all,

Got my shipping email last night and it looks like my 'lil M11x (specs below) is arriving a day early! I should have my grubby paws on it sometime tomorrow...

My gaming rig (self assembled) died about a month before I placed my M11x order and have been too lazy to rebuild it- been using the using the Win7 Pro partition on my MacBook Pro 15 (specs below) to game. The Nv GT330m is usable and it should be interesting to see how the slower CPU with a faster GPU on the m11x compares, but I might start looking at an Area-51 :D.

I've been lurking around here since I placed my order, which this forum also helped with (not only convinced me to get the m11x, but made sure I was getting the best price and to go for the core i7, decisions I'm sure I won't regret). This is my first Alienware and thanks to this forums members and their very informative posts, I already have a wealth of information.

Anyway, things I've read here and other reviews have got me very excited to finally get the little monster. I look forward to culling more good info from the forum and hope I can contribute in a useful way.

    Cheers!

    Hello Brudahs... and Sistas-

It's here! woohoo... Much smaller and sleeker that I imagined. Have CoD:MW2 and Everquest2 loaded up... well EQ2 is in the middle of a 4 hour update..../groan. I'll load Bioshock 2 as soon as I figure out how to play it without having to use this external DVD drive.

Anyway, I've done other typical installs and updates (Google chrome, bookmark imports, MS Security Essen, etc) and am very happy with the little monster so far. Only a couple hiccups, but nothing major. I'll be going through the forum again and sifting through the various optimizations/customizations that have been suggested. Then logged as many gaming hours as possible to make sure lil ET is ready for our trip to Peru in 3 weeks :)

Those of you still wondering if you should buy one of these and truely need a compact game capable laptop- THIS IS IT! Go buy one :D

Looks like FedEx boned me and I'm gonna have to wait another day till it arrives. Also, it it bad if when I look up my tracking number, the page tells me that it cannot be found?

Ya, I get a blank page when attempting to track my package, and strangely this line:

"Please note: it may take up to 4 business days (while the package is In Transit) before the carrier shows detailed tracking information on their website."

4 days? for a specialist supply chain company to update tracking on a website? seriously?

Sounds like you both are victims of a lazy FedEx employee when it can to scan updated info... or so I was told when looking for a shipment a while back. It just takes one person to forget to scan your box and it can mess up the whole tracking chain.

For mine it looked like it got sent back to the original depot, but what happened is the depot guy never scanned it as it left so a copy of the label was scanned later on. Scared the crap out of me since I needed the item for business and it looked like it was sent back before it made the delivery truck.

    Good luck guys!

It looks like you'll have to give it awhile as my tracker information was updated when I woke up this morning. I think the FedEx site needs 24 hours or so to actually update it.
