I recently got a m11x. I haven't had a laptop in a very long time. What steps should I take to make sure the battery stays at it's best? I currently have the charging disabled. When charging should I wait till it gets very low then recharge until full every time?

I will give rep to anyone who is helpful and would also appreciate any other tips on keeping my new laptop at it's best.

That says pull the battery out to prolong life.. well that's not so easy if you have the m11x. ;)
Edit: I guess to clarify, we can surmise that you meant we should simply unplug the laptop and let it drain.
Most sources online do say to at least re-install the battery every 3-4 weeks and allow to fully discharge, for laptops functioning as desktop replacements anyway.

    Here are some more tips:

Anyway, while that does seem logical, my XPS m1210's battery is still going strong after 5 years. I have never replaced it, and it almost always stays plugged in. When running on battery, I still get 5+ hours of general use out of it (browsing, MS Office, music player etc). Maybe it's just luck of the draw. My friend's new Mac Book Pro battery died after 2 months.

Is disabling charging essentially the same thing as removing the battery or is it still wearing it out?

    Thanks for the helpful replies!
