What's the best option running right now for configuration/deals?

Is it worth it to get the Free i7 upgrade option which limits some choices?
Is the fasttrack order option good enough to last me?
How can I get the best coupons and pricing?
i.e. Do I call and Haggle? what do I tell them? How the hell do you haggle over a computer? What is EPP? Where can I find coupons? Should I wait until there are better coupons?

What do you suggest to get the best bang for my buck without going tooooooo much over 1k?

If I end up going over 1200 or so is it just worth it to get a M15x or some type of Sager? What's the cutoff for portability/affordability/power?
