    Temps and screen.

    Hello , I have a m11xr2 with the i5 520UM (Stock) im getting around 60-79C idle. is that normal? And also when i boot orplay games or even doing nothing i notice a little green dot i should say on my screen its close to the bottom of the screen, does my screen need to be replaced? thanks.

    That is quite high for idle. I get around 40-45 on mine at idle clocked to 180. Install throttlestop and set it to monitor only then play a game for a little while and see what your max temp goes too. If it only goes to that 79 limit a sensor might be off.

    As for the green dot it is called a dead or stuck pixel. Sometimes a pixel exerciser will get it to come unstuck. You can also sometimes (Very gently) Massage the screen of the laptop with your thumb and cause it to come unstuck.

    However if it is a dead pixel it will always be like that and Dell has sent out replacements for dead pixels before.

    If it is a Dead Pixel it would have to be in the center of the screen. On the edge will not count towards a replacement. I think they need 3 dots with in the same area to count. Google Dell dead pixel policy to check. ;)

    Yea , i called Alienware and they said it has to be 3 So i have to lie to them saying its 3 or more.

    Just playing minecraft i get 75-77 C on my GPU i get 70C i think its kinda high. i'll try a more intense game.

    I played mlb2k11 and the cpu hit 89C on all 4 cores. The GPU hit 79 im sure this is really high
