It seems that I only get around 30 fps in a 24 man server, I wouldnt imagine this as being normal but it might be on the m11xr2. I have whitelisted hl2.exe in the TF2 folder inside of steams folder.

    Any clues?

I got a trial for TF2 from a friend and was getting around the same amount of frames as you (even less sometimes) on 20 or below man servers. Only differance being I have the R1.

Didnt matter what my graphics settings were either.

Very dissapointing as it was a game I really wanted to play with friends.

Yeah I was hoping to play with some people, but the fps is worse than I would have imagined for a source game.

TF2 is pretty CPU heavy. Those frames seem about normal.

Although mine varies wildly from 60+ FPS to 25+ FPS depending on where I'm at, & what's going on.

Yeah unfortunately TF2 doesn't play as well as I'd like especially on larger servers.

I find it plays really well, sure some servers don't handle max players too well and everyone takes a hit, but I've clocked up about 70 hours already on this laptop. 258.96 drivers, cpu overclocked, turbo on, most settings at max except reflections on simple and motionblur off. AA and filtering on x16. Looks great and plays great, don't know what else to tell you :)

tf2 heavily relies on CPU rather than GPU, BFBC2 have the same issue with m11x, just over-clock and you should get around 10 to 15 fps more...

Shouldn't be those frames on LOW. maybe medium-high but thats a big maybe. I am able to run stable with 30+ fps. doesnt dip below that because with a game like TF2, you would notice sub-30. I am always running from an external monitor (1920x1080) with 2xAA, no filtering and everything on high with shadows and shaders on medium and water reflect LOW. When I play, my CPU is OCed @ 160 with everything else default. Use Net_graph in console to see your frames dont use anything external.
