    Hey guys.

    My beloved game tf2 is not wanting to open.... It ran around 2 hours ago but now whenever I click play game in steam it just shows the preparing to launch team fortress box.... any suggestions?

    Actually just happened to me today but with gmod....on my dads old acer.Wait it out I guess because that worked for me.

    Steam > Library > Right-click TF2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache

    Hopefully that works for ya guys.

    I have the same issue with bf2 alot, usually if I restart steam, or restart the computer it will work. I now make it a habbit of restarting my computer befor I start any games.

    +1 for FahrenheitGTI! Same thing happened to me when trying to launch Skyrim from Steam the other day. For some reason, the TESV.EXE file was no longer in the right Steam folder. Not sure how it disappeared...

    Going to "Steam > Library > Right-click on Skyrim > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache" fixed the problem!
