Guys I've using this Download - SYNAPTICS | Scrybe on my M11x for about half an hour. I don't think I'll ever use a standard mouse over my touchpad again (other than in game) It's perfect for a computer of this size and gives intelligent shortcuts to anything and everything you can think of.

Remember to uninstall your synaptic pointer drivers before install. Try it, I find it better than my mac pro's touchpad now :D

Ash, this is an amazing find! +rep for that

But I would still have to say the macbooks touchpad is still superior in terms of both performance and the way it uses the accelaration to provide a more realistic experience (not sure if thats the right word but hopefully u get what i am trying to say). Otherwise it adds the thing all windows laptops are missing, the two finger scroll and pinch zoom.

I doubt I will use the 'gestures' included in it but I have surprised myself before.

I didn't bother uninstalling the old drivers and it seemed to work without a hitch on my m11x r2, just required a restart.

    Again, thanks again! Just awesome!

EDIT: Just as a side note, you can disable the scrybe by removing it from startup and you lose the gesture ability but still keep the multitouch :)

joncolbert - that's unusual. I'm also running an r1 and it's working just fine. Can't really help you as it installed without a hitch.

I've been using scrybe and I love it. The M11x touchpad is 10x better than the M17x R1 touchpad. I actually really enjoy the M11x R1 touchpad

It's not working for me anymore so I uninstalled it. It seemed to be working for a day or so, but when you right clicked on the tray icon, all the menu options were missing text. Then it disappeared and would not work, even though the process was running :(

this problem is due to the Windows region and language setting ( Control panel>Region and Language>Format )

so far it only display text properly with English (United States) setting
scrybe still can be used but u cant change the setting bcoz of missing text

Guys I installed this but I'd like to disable the track pad when my mouse is plugged in, but the check box in the alien ware control centre has no effect. Is there another easy way without installing additional software?

I have an r2 and it works on mine without a hitch. Try going into control panel, then go under mouse and check under the tabs to see if there is a similar check box there. (Currently at work so I can't tell you what tab to specifically check under)

    Good luck!

Can anyone tell me if this will do webpage scrolling with two fingers. Similar to how the apple touchpads work. That is really the only feature i want it for.

mrexcuse whilst your suggestion didn't exactly work, it did set me on a course of action which did. I uninstalled all synaptics drivers and programs, restarted, installed the synaptics driver from the m11x dell driver page, restarted, went into alientouch and lo and behold the checkbox was unchecked! I rechecked it and the touchpad was inactive. Hooray, no more misfired rockets in TF :)

I was hoping that it would but I can not get it to do this.
I really want this to duplicate the Macbook gestures badly.

Twofinger scrolling does work. You have to turn in on in the Synaptics driver though.

EDIT: As does pinch zooming if you care for that.

Yes, they both work on my R2. Those are the gestures I use the most and they are both working fine.

I dont think i have the pinch zooming...i think that was introduced after my powerbook g4. But the two finger scrolling alone will be worth downloading this...thanks guys.
