    Hello,

Im a noob and was wondering how do i switch the m11x from the intergrated intel video chip to the nvidia chip? ive read that its {function+f6} and i pushed that....but there was no indicators that its actually happened! How can i tell which is being currently used? I heard that when you use the Intel chip, the battery will last alot longer.

    Thanks in advance!

Theres an icon down in the lower right taskbar that will tell you which video card you are currently using. And yes you have it right.

Its a hidden notification. You have to hit the up arrow and look for nvidia's icon and mouse over it.

go to control panel , then go device manager and check what gpu are u using!, also, in control panel you can try to click the nvidia control panel, if it says that no nvidia card is present in the system is because you are using the intel one.

Finally, when you are using the intel card you have to see a blue icon in the taskbar.

Perhaps you've upgraded to the wrong nvidia Drivers?

Yep that would be the problem. The manual switching drivers for the m11x R1 must be specially made and so you can only use the ones on dell's site which I believe are at version 197.71, those 266.58 drivers can be used with the R2 model because it uses optimus to automatically switch graphics cards.

Hi. After knowing that I am using the Intel video card, how do i switch back to Nvidia?

for M11x R2, is there a way I can manually select which video card to use? there i times i am only using the MS office therefore i only need the Intel graphics card.

there are times when i want to play Crysis, Nvidia adapter is not connected. I still need to restart my laptop.
