    Hi everyone,
I just bought a m11x in the last day of 2010 and don't know how to switch between the 2 graphics cards. There is no function icon in the F6 key and I tried press fn+f6 but nothing happened. My m11x is brand new, should I update the drivers or something?
    thank you very mcuh!!

If you have an R2, then it's controlled via nVidia Optimus. Goto the nVidia control panel to set which application will use the GPU, and which will use the IGP :)

    Howto do so :D

At first I liked the idea, now I in hate it. All my whitelist programs disappear after add I add them (accept SC2 and ONLY STEAM program not the games). I've done 2 clean re-installs. Dell is a joke when it comes to drivers. They still have current latest at 257 while 265 is out. God damn, I feel like calling just to and get my money back for such service...

Hmm seems like something might be wrong with your comp. Have you tried the 260.99 verde drivers? I haven't had any issues with whitelist programs disappearing that includes Steam games and non-Steam games. One of the main benefits of Optimus is that you no longer need to depend on Dell for GPU driver updates.

    I think mine is probably a R2.
I haven't tried to use it yet. How can I tell whether it is on Nvidia or Intel ? There is an option to choose which graphics processors to use if u right click on each app. Will that work for steam games?

all the games you have whitelisted ( for example for justcause2 you have to whitelist justcause2.exe ) then when you run it, it will run with the Nvidia videocard, if the game is not in your list, then it will run automatically with the intel one). I have and r1 so i dont know the process to do the whitelist of the .exe of each game but thats how it works.

for the steam games you can do this process because you can find the .exe of each game in the following directory

    programfiles/steam/steamapps/common/
then you will find the folder for each game you have installed, click on the one you are insterested and there you will find the .exe

    =)
