    Hey guys/gals,

So i just found out the the computer i ordered is an R2, does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do when i first get it or what i should watch out for. I seen some threads about updating the driver, is that really necessary since it is brand new, hinge design seems to be a problem, anything else to be aware of. I am not too computer savy, so bare with me. Thanks

the drivers should be fine and the hinge also should be depends on where you purchased it from and when it was made but if it does become a problem send it in and dell will fix it free
the main thing is making sure the computer is using the dedicated gpu and not the integrated but the new drivers made that less of a problem its a good machine and you should have no initial problems enjoy it

    Congratulations!

How about creating recovery media? Saves you the hassle of reinstalling original backup program, and also comes handy when you decide to revert to factory setting.

If mobility is an issue, then it would be proper to monitor your battery life and discharge rate using batterybar or other similar utility..
