Splinter Cell: Conviction problems

So i've been having problems with my mouse having random dead spots. I know it's not the mouse as this is this is the only game it happens on, i can play any other game and have no such issues. and it's a corded mouse b/c i like the feel of a corded mouse better. but anywho. My aiming will have random dead spots where it just stops moving. it didn't always do this. i had about 5 hours in the game before it started happening. I love this game and it's making it really hard to play. I've rebooted and done nearly everything but re install.
