Probably seen this type of thread a million times but hell.
I got the black Friday Deal (that went on way past black Friday) on the R1 as well as an additional discount so i got the

    Core 2 duo 1.3ghz overclockable

    4gb ram

    Bluetooth

    320gb 7,200rpm hard drive

and the rest of the basic stuff it comes with along with the guaranteed buyback plan for $730

Few questions does anyone know how it handles FFXIV because my old laptop i didn't think would be able to play it and i was wanting to try it out. I read some stuff online saying it couldn't but if it can run crysis medium-high how could it not run FFXIV, do you think I should get Crysis?

Also any games i should get for it and anything i need to look out for or need to know in general ( i heard about the hinge issues) thank you in advance for any responses

I found this video on youtube if it helps:

YouTube - Alienware m11x FFXIV (Axe Animations)

Personally I would recommend Mass Effect 1+2 if you haven't played it already runs flawlessly at max settings on the m11x. I haven't tried Crysis on it yet but it's a great shooter. I'd also recommend Orange Box, all the games in that package run great on the m11x. Also been very impressed with how it handles Just Cause 2, which is on sale for $7.50 for a couple more days on Steam.

It can run Crysis on high. It runs much better in DX9 than 10 and still looks great.

Couldn't tell you about Final Fantasy but I heard it was a mess.

if you have a desktop computer, use its dvd drive to create an ISO, copy it over to the m11x, mount it with a drive emulator, then install.
