So I've tried searching the internet for an answer to this, but I can't seem to turn up anything. Everything I've seen has to do with remapping the FN key to be something else... that's not what I want to do.

I want to know how to map the different keys in conjunction with the FN key. For example, pressing FN+F7 is mute, but FN+F6 does nothing. Can you make it so that F6 leads to some action?

I'm also asking because my FN mapping of the Pause and Prt Scrn keys don't work anymore (the ones related to the Command Center). Can I get them re-associated with those actions?

fn+f6, on the r1, is keyed to the GPU switch function.

    I don't think it's mapped on the r2 (iirc).

Well, sure, that's correct.... but that being the case (and me having an R2) couldn't I make FN+F6 do something?

But also in this case, my mappings for Pause and Prt Screen have disappeared. How do I get them back?

pause and prt screen - tap them without hitting the fn key.

FN key for pause will call up the Alien CC
FN key for prt scrn will enable/disable alienFX (the lights)

I must really not be making myself clear....

Pressing FN+Pause does NOT CURRENTLY bring up the Alienware CC.
Pressing FN+Prt Scrn does NOT CURRENTLY enable/disable the lights.

They USED to, but now, they don't.

How do I make it so they do this again??

@Fel_15 You may have disabled the AlienFX and AlienOSD accidentally. This happened to me once and they started working again after I went into msconfig and re-enabled them.

    Hope it helps.

I looked in msconfig just now and it didn't seem to help.

Also, I have access to the CC program through windows, and the colors work fine... but those two keys stopped working. (Especially the FX on/off one, which is useful).

You have any further details on what you did exactly?

In msconfig, under the startup tab:

    -Alienware AlienFX
    -Alienware On-Screen Display

should both be enabled. I found that these were disabled when my function keys weren't working and enabling them fixed it.

Hopefully it works for you but it may not be the same problem.

    Well, fixed.....

Was missing a driver, the OSD Application. Looks like it's working now.
