    Hello everyone,

I'm planning to pick up a m11x R2 in the coming days or weeks, but just now I realized that the ones with a Core i7 offered by both the Canadian and American Dell sites only allow you to select the Cosmic Black finish. The ones with the Soft Touch Stealth Black seem to be only available for the single configuration with the Core i5.

In NBR's review the reviewer received his m11x R2 with the Core i7 and the ST finish. Why is it no longer available for selection? Or can I personally phone them up after my order goes through and request ST for my build?

You should be ordering over the phone (forget online - phone you can try to haggle). Ask them about Soft Touch. Perhaps they can key it in even though its not listed in your region's configuration screen on the website.

Once an order is placed and in production, its not going to be changed out. Best to handle all of this at the time you place the order.

    Seriously?

Well if so then it's no big deal; I would've preferred the ST to ward off scratches.

then again, from the feedback on the forum, soft touch is a finger print nightmare... ;)

I think both versions can be a nightmare of a different kind, I had both the normal/gloss black on the M11xR1 and now I have the soft touch black on the R2. The R1 picked up and showed fingerprints like crazy but they were ridiculously easy to wipe off at any time and there was no show of them ever being there once wiped down(I used LCD cleaning cloths that are slightly damp already), now with my R2 I don't get quite as many visible fingerprints but because of the slighly porous ruberized surface when the fingerprints are there they are next to impossible to get off as it almost sinks into the finish. I like the stealth better but the gloss is easier to keep clean looking.
