Ok i remember reading a thread about a m11x r2 not returning from sleep mode... instead one has to manually shut the computer down and turn it on again... sorry for another thread but i already tried searching for that thread without any results... but yea... im having the same problem my computer would not return from sleep mode.. what it does is when i press the alien head button my key board and speakers start to light up but then it shuts down again and it goes back into sleep mode... what is wrong? anybody know thanks..

That definitely isn't normal. Has it always done this or did it just start recently? Did something change with your configuration (hardware or software)? Try booting into diagnostics (F12) to ensure that all of your hardware (memory particularly) is good. Failure to resume could be any number of things from software to hardware...

I got my laptop a couple weeks ago and this was the first time i decided to put it into sleep mode... and it happend .. i will run a diagnostics when i get home.. i dont have my laptop with me right now...
could "closing the lid" after putting it into sleep mode be the problem? -
ok i just ran a diagnostics and everything passed... nothing wrong... any other suggestions?

I have had all sorts of wierd problems with windows hibernation. You might want to check in your settings and make sure when lid is closed it sleeps and not hibernates.

I had a similar problem with my Precision and Vista. It went away after a while. I don't know if it was a bios, display driver, or system software upgrade. But one of them did the trick...
I think the same thing will probably happen with the M11x.
Opening the lid to have the computer wake up should not be something one needs to have fiddle with settings to get working.... Laptops have been doing that for decades.
Cheers.
Sleep mode ?? weird??
