I'm sure you'll get a couple recommendations, but I personally use msi Afterburner. Stable at 550/1320/890. Still got a little more room for some higher numbers though, just haven't tried yet.

I use Nvidia System Tools. Install the performance aspect. Then right click and it will be under the NVidia control panel, from there in the Performance section.

I overclocked for a few days, and noticed no improvement. I bought an SSD though and the difference is night and day.

Granted, Overclocking is free, SSDs certainly are not... there's just very little gain in performance vs. overclocking and not. I also read that it reduces the life of your machine. Personally, I say it's not worth it.

Answer 1 - yes because you can
Answer 2 - if it isn't broke don't fix it

It depends on the game, i get a 10fps increase in l4d2 with my overclock. Mafia2, BFBC2 also gets a huge increase. What doesnt seem to increase at all are blizzard games: WoW, SC2... i think blizzard games are more CPU bottlenecked. As far as reducing the life of the machine I doubt it, temperatures are the only real factor for hardware damage and even with GPU/CPU overclock i havnt seen anyone go over 85C.

@ Velgauder - I disagree about the overclocking. I was just playing around using eVGA's program and noticed a jump of about 400 in my 3dmark06 score. Starcraft 2 was also playing noticeably better about 3-7 fps higher than at stock.

The OC'ing will affect the lifetime of your equipment if there isnt sufficient cooling and also if you do it incorrectly or too much. I read reviews that the 335m gt has a bit of OC capability. So just dont be stupid when it comes to overclocking. :)

@original poster - Overclocking is adventageous in situations where the game is GPU limited. Meaning when you overclock you actually see a gain in FPS (frames per second) and the game may seem smoother. It's best to download FRAPS which can help determine your FPS while you play. If your game is cpu limited and you get no benefit from overclocking your gpu then their is no reason to do it for those games...

I will give the others a chance to chime in on what drivers, numbers, etc.. work best.
Time to pass the torch to newer folks on the forum for knowledge transfer.

    Is 600/1420/900 stable enough?

    One interesting bit:

I had the MB replaced in order to get CPU OC to work. The tech said not many issues reported in my area for that but that there were several calls about video card failing by OC.
