Maybe some better pictures and a better description will help. I don't know what's really going on...

I believe that is pretty common on the m11x all I have seen have a little gap between the gray plastic molding and the glass at the top. I don't let it become an issue for me.

i know what your talking about (only because its how mine is too. not because of you picture, lol)

i just figured this M11x was much better than my first one. so i just except it for what it is being that i cant find anything else wrong with this one.

unless dust starts getting in between my screen and LCD... then i may ask for a replacement. but considering the LCD crapshoot i might just clean it myself...

if it bothers you get a replacement.

Mine has a little gap at the top of the glass as well it is not big enough to slide a business card into but a little more than a sheet of regular paper.

I'm really thinking this thing needs a anti-reflective screen guard on it after using today so once I get one I'll cut it just a tad big and gap will be covered even though it does not bother like the glare does till then in daylight I'll use !!!

People do not realize the picture has a tv in the background and the red circles are the top ends of your m11x screen open. They are missing what your showing them. Newalien and Some guy see it we all have the gap with light shinning through so I would say enjoy your new rigg ;)

ROFL, I had not yet jacked my LCD lights up to the point in a dim room to see that a little bit of light does bleed through the gap right where the indents start on the bezel. But I had to crank up the brightness to half to even notice it. If you had not made this post it would have went undetected till I cranked the LCD lights up then would have thought the gap was expanding.

If I did not have all the warranty on this thing I might would get a syringe with some black RTV and close that puppy up.

I'm already thinking red lens repair tape for the Alien head's eyes on the back of the lid just to be different.

My worry now is that if light can get out dust pulled in by static might get pulled into the screen. I read a post on here where someone had dust between the glass and the LCD.

I wonder if we could force RTV sealant through one of these.

Those needles are not sharp they are made to deliver oil or grease to lube in tight spots. Looks like they could lay a small bead of black RTV right into the gap without making a mess. If done right a dell tech would never see it. ;)

Those are breather vents to allow for expanding gases to escape when the system gets warm. Nothing to see here... move along.
