This may be a very stupid question... but I'm gonna ask it just in case.

Is it possible for the m11x to broadcast wifi? At the moment I am connecting through a cable to the internet (living in accommodation so it's my only option). I recently bought a psp and would love to play it online but just don't know how. I bought a USB dongle but apparently it doesn't work for Win7.....

So was just wondering if there was anyway to share the wired connection through the wifi, allowing my psp to connect?

if you want to make your M11x as a wifi hotspot for your psp, check out Connectify - Turn your Windows 7 laptop into a Wi-Fi Hotspot

    Thanks for the response!
I got really excited because my PSP sees the network created with connectify but it can't connect :(

Apparently the PSP doesn't support WPA2-PSK passwords... so it's grayed out on the list.

    Any other ideas?

Connectify only seems to use WPA2-PSK

I suggest to buy a WLAN router. That way you can use WLAN on your PSP even while your laptop is shut down. And you should be able to set your encryption/security according to your needs and likes.

Normally you could set up an Ad-Hoc connection on your Laptop and share your internet connection via that, this creates your own private wireless network to which other devices can connect.

However, for some crazy reason, Sony has purposefully disabled the PSP from doing this in later firmwares.

My advice to you is to also, buy a super cheap wireless router, this will allow you to browse while you in the kitchen, or play your PSP on the toilet, as an example. This is probably the easiest option.

If you are lucky enough to have custom firmware there is a possibility you can connect to an Ad-Hoc network, however if this is the case I would need to do more research as to how it's done.
