Hey guys im seriously lost at this point.

I currently have the pre installed 267 driver for my 540m geforce. I dont know if i should update it to the new 290 beta driver? Can i just overlap them?

OR am i going to have to research the internet to get rid of my current 267.

Also do i need to download and install the 285 before i go straight to the 290?

Please help guys i dont know what to do!

Last question though, does the 290 effect the performance of the fps at all on the m11x r3? (which is what i have)

Im just looking for answers, im new to high tech computers like this so any help would be MUCH appriciated.

First off m11x is not "high tech" its a high spec laptop for its size, nothing really high tech at this day and age. Just a well built gaming laptop which is portable.

You can install 285 or 290 and just select clean install or overlap them, for the performance increase just read the release notes, which list the improvements etc. the performance boost will only be for few games most likely.

Anyways, most of the time it is best to just update to latest stable release, beta is for people who know what they are doing.

I just installed 285 on top of my factory Nvidia install. The installer automatically uninstalls the old driver when you start it up. No issues to report.
