I want to get a SSD to enjoy the speed and performance it delivers but the high price is holding me back. Is there anyway to have two drives? So I could have the large HDD for main storage and a small SSD for the OS? I know I could use the HDD as an external via USB but I understand I'll suffer latency in this case.

I'm pretty sure everyone's answer will be that it isn't possible as others would be doing it and I would be able to find info on it but thought it better to ask before I cancel anything out.

    Tom.

You wont suffer latency is you use the SSD for the operating system and for software and games and the external HDD for your storage.

If you get a USB 3.0 HDD I dont think you will face a problem at all.

Sorry I should have been more specific. If I had games on the HDD then I would suffer latency yes? There's no way of having two internals?

Game on USB 2.0 external is fine, if you don't mind a bit loading time. But, you wont "lag" cause of the HDD.

I think I'll just have to shell out for a decent sized SSD. Thanks guys.
