Hi all, So I have had my Replacement m11x R2 for about a week now and there is a huge scratch on the screen, mainly from where the keyboard is sticking up (near WASD), now you can see a rainbow ish line and it is quite distracting. Also, on the right speaker I sometimes have that eclipse or wire touching the speaker cover to make part of it brighter. What can I do about these problems, I am under the default 1 yr warranty, guidelines/tips/suggestions much appreciated. Thank you all.

    Short Version:
    Screen Scratched by uneven keyboard.
Eclipse light problem in right speaker.
What can I do about it? Guidelines?

    Thanks

I also have the problem where part of the speaker grille is brighter... if anyone has a solution for this or knows if Dell would send a technician out it would be helpful.

If it's really scratched and not just oily and if it's really caused by the keyboard 100% sure then it should be covered by warranty. Dell reps have clearly stated that scratches on the screen caused by the keyboard can't happen unless you have a defect unit (i remember reading this off of the forums on the Dell website).

So yes, if your screen is scratched by the keyboard then it's a manufacturing error and should be covered by your standard warranty. They will ask for solid proof tho :D

Is your speaker like that? Dell will cover it if you explain it to them

I had the same problem with my keyboard/screen. Dell sent a technician out to replace my screen. Now I have a protector over the screen.

that's actually just an led light - the speaker is on the bottom of your computer where the small holes are all through the front

well yes, my speaker is indeed like that with the uneven lightning. Also you guys are right about the screen it was MOSTLY oil, but there is definitely a slice of the screen gone D:

@ xLucidx phil probably has the A2G green onions, its on the dell website (if I am wrong correct me)
