    STALKER COP Issues...

    Ok folks.. I am looking for some assistance and ingenuity. If anyone purchased this game during the steam special or just have it I need your help!

    I am able to play the game fine. My issue is, about every 5 to 10 seconds while sprinting the game pauses for a split second. It will also do it during fights or gun fights. This is incredibly annoying. Doesnt matter if I have the settings on high or low. Does it more often on max or very high.

    CPU Utilization at 75 percent
    gpu utilization at 80 to 99 percent

    I have utilized FSutil for memory bandwidth, tried compatibility modes, I am at my wits end. Any help is super appreciated. I have disabled all the sun effects and ssao. Still does it..

    Well.. after loads of assistance here, I decided to get a new image of the game from steam. Removed old image, installed new and it helps a little bit. I think part of my issue is that I had installed the older WHQL driver from Dell/Alienware last week to see how it would perform 197.72 compared to the newer drivers. Some games no difference at all. This game BIG DIFFERENCE. I reinstalled 258.96 after my first post and 5-7fps average for increase in sunshafts. 3-4 fps increase overall. The MINI loads while traversing the map are just a part of the game. I dont think there is much we can do about it. I may write up a quick for optimization as it takes a long while to load this game each time. BW, StevenX

    Steve, Am I right in assuming that by running the 258.96 drivers you can't swap between the graphics cards? Have you disabled the intel one in the bios?

    Would you recommend doing this as in my situation I am mostly powered and/or gaming so rarely use the intel card.

    Hi Steven

    I saw you posted in another thread about the mod you can download. I also bought the double pack game deal at the weekend and I will install when my 3rd R2 arrives at the end of the week!.
    Did you need to do lots of optimizing and tweaking or did you just run the exe and job done?
    Is it worth doing it? as the screenshots look really good

    I also purchased STALKER on steam during the double game sale.
    I'm using m11xR2, i7, 4GB with updated Dell drivers and have not had any issues running it so far (only played for about an hour mind). If you download the mod exe just make sure to run the game at least once first as the exe will not recognize the steam installation until you do.

    I sorta read stuff, but your right, even on my M15x, when you sprint to new areas and such there is a load process that happens every few meters.
