Yeah soo I have my little Alienware M11x here I got a while ago, and it cant seem to run runescape of all games... It runs MW2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, STALKER CoP, Dead Island, Portal 2 all at high settings with absolutely 0 problems. And here we have runescape, a crappy 12 year old browser MMO, which it cant run.

I am led to believe my hardware is not an issure considering you could run Runescape on 2000 era PC.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.73 GHz
    GPU: NVidia GT335M
    RAM: 4 gigs of 1066 MHz DDR3

I have both java.exe and JagexLauncher.exe on the whitelist.

I was wandering if there are any other M11x owners here who have this problem.

i havent played runescape for like 10 years, but from what i remember, it was a browser based game right? well it probably has something to do with your browser configurations. did you try messing with it in different broswers?

    Whitelist javaw.exe
It is the same thing to get minecraft to run smooth.

I have java.exe and javaw.exe whitelisted. Still does not work, ive tried simply disabling the Intel Integrated GPU, but when I disable it the NVidia card stops working as well.

lol you dont need to whitelist anything on an R1. thats only for the R2 and R3. just switch to the GT335m. FN+F6 keys.

I have it running on the GT335M, no performance difference than when I run it on the Intel GMA.

well runescape for an old game really runs tyly, i tried it and was getting like 30fps at max settings with the nvidia GPU on, which is like worse than crappy considering its way over 100fps on max settings in HL2... simply illogical lol.

I think there's framelimiter which locks to 30fps?

Mine is struggling to run it at above 10 FPS, with everything on lowest possible, I get 20 - 25.

its not stable 30, it might be caped to 30, i am not sure but it isn't stable 30, it jumps down to 20 at times, even less in big areas. It just is a general issue with java games i think.

REALLY makes a difference what browser you are using for Runescape, my FPS is almost halfed when using Opera over Internet Explorer. Try this. I get over 30FPS even at GE.

Heres's How ya fix your problems if your running a 64 bit version of windows make sure you are using a 64 bit browser i.e internet explorer or firefox and not the default iexploder, the one in the following directory. (C:\program file\internet explorer\iexplore) make sure you have java 64 bit installed. You would have to use a 64 bit browser and google java download. This fixed my horrible lag such as 7 fps in the middle of nowwhere with no one around. Now Im smooth 30 in GE and 50 everywhere else.

Hey guys sorry to bump this old thread but I need help. I decided to try playing runescape again for a month and trying to play on my R1 is literally unberable and unplayable. Up until now I was only getting 1-5 fps no matter where I was. I physically could not do anything in the game, just logging in on my laptop to try and do my squeal rolls took about 15 minutes.

I found this thread and downloaded 64 bit java and tried using 64bit IE to run the game. It is a little bit better now (about 10 fps) but the game is still unplayable. All I have really been trying to do is sit in the fishing guild all day and logging in there I get 10 FPS on all of the lowest settings. It isn't even possible to fish well with the way the game runs, the cursor lag and choppiness have me running around in circles doing nothing.

Is there anyway to actually get this to run on an r1?
