I was wondering if anyone has tried Rift Beta on the M11X. I am downloading the patch for the Rift Beta and it is taxing the system as I type.

I have played it since Beta 3 and have had no problems. 30fps at high settings with only noticeable dip being on the bigger rift events with 100 people there. It is however still playable then. You have to make sure to whitelist the program if it is an R2.

If downloading the files is giving your system problems there might be another issue.

I was wondering if anyone was playing Rift on the mx11. I might bite on an R2 just for this game.

When updating/downloading the game it does tax the system, something is wrong with it, as I'm having the same issue.

No issues here downloading or patching. I am also in rift since beta 3 and frankly, i play it more often on my m11x than my full desktop PC because i have the flexibility of playing anywhere.

I play at high settings at around 38-42fps with an R2, and when i drop it to low for raids, i get 60-70fps with large amount of people on screen. I can recommend the m11x for anyone that want to play rift with a high portability need like me.

Ohh, the beta works fine when your in, but when it is downloading an update, everything slows down.

TERA is probably the next P2P MMO I'm looking forward to, thanks for sharing that vid. After playing both Global Agenda and DCUO, it's hard to believe that TERA is using the same Unreal 3 engine.

Back on topic though, I recently re-downloaded the RIFT beta onto my M11x and desktop to give the game one last chance to hook me. I was able to continue surfing the web and streaming video without any slowdowns while downloading the game files.

Granted updating the game files won't happen often enough that system slowdown will be a major issue. Are you guys using an R1 or R2? The weaker CPU on the R1 could explain why you're experiencing issues while others are not.
