Hi Guys i bought a used M11X yesterday.

So i tried the F8 reformat by hitting F8 while booting, and it did nothing. So i decided to use the disc. Was this a bad idea?

I was under the impression the disc would be factory settings, however, it was a basic win 7 64 install. I downloaded a ton of drivers from the dell site and installed them all.

Since doing the reformat and drivers, i cant use the wireless and the program AlienFX is nowhere to be found, does anyone know where I can find AlienFX for it, or is there is a way i can stll get my laptop back to factory setting? And if not any ideas y my wireless may not be working, i do however have the dual g-card switching working.

Thanks very much, sorry for the stupidity.

I dont think you can get it back to factory default after clearing the hard drive. Don't worry it wasn't a bad idea, everything can be restored with the proper drivers. Did you download CC and the OSD drivers?

    As a tip to owners...

Before you hop on the 'Wipe and clean install' bandwagon... Take a moment to invest in a 8GB USB flash Drive. Launch Dell's DataSafe Local and select the Restore function. You will see an option to Create Recovery Media. Select this option and insert your 8GB Flash Drive. This will create a recovery flash drive using the factory restore image. Once this is complete, stash away the flash drive and then feel free to move about the cabin...

Wipe the drive, install a clean OS, whatever. If you run into an issue or want to revert back to your 'Out of box' state, boot from the recovery flash drive ;)
