How easy is it to do?

Never replaced anything in a laptop before, from the looks of the manual though it seems quite easy enough?

Are you replacing your M11x with a SSD? If you don't know what your doing and have no experience, I wouldn't advise you for this task.

If you are purely talking about the physical side of replacing HDD with another one or with SSD then it is easy peasy... (as easy as changing your bed sheets if you like). If you are really an amateur which you say you are, theres a tear down video you can view on youtube you can watch before you get your nails into your own machine...

All that is needed is to remove the botton plate ,then unscrew the caddie, then the HD, remove the conector, reverse the process, format the drive .
