I am totally stumped by this, so if anyone else can help me... please do.

I have an m11x R2 and a HTPC, both with Boxee installed.

When I have the HTPC connected to my flat screen and boxee is running at 1080P, the refresh/response rate shows at a smooth 60Hz and everything is super smooth.

But, when I connect my M11x to that same TV and have it running at 1080P, it seems to cap the refresh/response rate at 30Hz and the difference is considerably noticeable.

    - I have Boxee added to nvidia white list
    - I tried forcing vertical sync off in nvidia control panel

When I run Boxee on the M11x at 720P on the TV, its at a fluent 60Hz, but for some reason Boxee is capping it at 30Hz when I switch it to 1080P on the TV.

(Even on the main display on the m11x, boxee at 720P shows at 60Hz)

Any comments or suggestions would be gladly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem. I would love to find a fix to this odd issue.

Don't dupe the displays? Set up as show only on one or set up as external? I am not familar with Boxee but I use XBMC..
Btw I think the M11x displays refresh rate is 59.99 something.. So setting a higher refresh than output can mess up smoothness..

I don't have the displays duplicated. When I'm running Boxee from my M11x I use the TV as the main/only display.

Thats the thing.... My HTPC runs at 60Hz at 1080P on the TV
the M11x on the TV at 1080P only runs at 30Hz.

I don't understand what is capping the refresh rate. On XBMC I turn vertical sync off and enable True Fullscreen and everything runs smooth.

I "Think" it prob has something to do with boxee not running in true fullscreen mode since the option is not there. Maybe it's windowed fullscreen.

    I could be wrong lol

I run Boxee on my R2 (and my MBP) as well. However I'm running at 720p almost always since the resolution of the stuff I'm usually playing isn't any higher than that. I'll 1080p a try and let you know.

Love Boxee, but wish they would fix library scraping soon. Otherwise I'm likely to give up on it.

Is it possible the Intel gpu is capping it? Check to see if NVIDIA is running... If I am not mistaken the NVIDIA gpu is needed for 1080P.

Did a test. In the integrated graphics options I set the refresh rate at 60Hz @ 1080p while connected to the TV. I ran Boxee with the Integrated graphics. Checked in Boxee to see the refresh rate and it was @60Hz. Now if I launch it with the nvidia card, it caps it back to 30. I don't see any options in the nvidia control panel to set refresh rates. :(

Yea but unfortunately it's Choppy with the intel
Chip. It should be able to run fine with the nvidia one.

Btw, I did add boxee to the nvidia whitelist ( no help )

I know this article is mega old but if you can find a similar setting to force the refresh rate in nvidia control panel...
    Custom Resolutions
basically somewhere in the nvidia control panel you can make a custom resolution. I can confirm however this isnt the case for dells 257.30 driver which is the driver i currently have installed so I cant really help as you cant change the resolution in nvidia control panel (at least for me I have to use windows or intels). But ive seen this feature available on other driver versions not from dell... hope that helps.
