Hi there, I have recently got my M11x R3 with i7 2617m/4GB ram/320 GB plus the Killer Wireless-N 1103. I upgraded the ram with Crucial 8GB kit (4GBX2) and swapped the HDD with Crucial M4 256GB SSD. I used Alienrepawn and put the 1:1 image to my SSD without any problems.

However, I now notice that the laptop freezes within 3 mins after logging in to the desktop. The strange thing is that I can still move my pointer without any problems but the system just doesn't response. However, it will come back after maybe 30 seconds to 1 min. Then it may freeze again randomly sometime later. In general the recurrence is not that often but the laptop definitely freezes within 3 mins after logging in and it happens everytime. Waking up from standby is the same. I didn't notice any problems regarding the gaming bit by the way.

I have tried several things such as recovering it with the factory image, uninstalling Dell Stage/driver for the free-fall sensor, reinstalling the Killer/audio/video (both Intel and nVidia). I also applied the BIOS update (A2; in fact, it was on A4 but I didn't know and it just automatically wiped it off and put A2 on). They all didn't work. I also ran the extended diagnostic test and it's all fine. I am actually away at the moment (and will be for a while) and I don't have the clean Win 7 recovery disc with me, so I am not sure if it will make a difference by doing a clean install. I begin to feel frustrated and getting sick of fixing it. I wonder if anyone has similar experience and/or could help. Thanks.

something like this hapends to me and i found that was my windows phone 7 the responsable for this. Don't know why but since i don't connect the phone to my lap, everything works fine. Maybe is a hardware malfunction. Try checking all the event log records in control panel, admin tools, event log viewer.

Ummmmm I think I may have found the reason and more importantly the solution! Someone had similar issues with Crucial C300 and apparently it's something to do with the Link Power Management with Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Somehow Crucial's SSDs don't work with LPM and it needs to be disabled. I have just done that and I haven't had a single freeze up (10 mins up time). Hopefully it will stay like this :)
