Just received my R3 yesterday evening, just wondering about a few things:

    1. RAM.
    - Is 1333MHz the highest supported RAM speed (at stock clocks)?
    - I got 6GB (1x2GB 1x4GB) but both CPUZ & Speccy are telling me they're running in dual channel. Surely not?

    2. Overclocking.
    - What's the highest overclock the i5 2467M can handle?
    - What BCLK should i use?

    3. Charger.
    - I was sent a flat low-profile charger with my R2 (which i returned), but i was given a normal sized block charger with my R3. Is this normal?

    1. it is called Intel Flex Mode, you'll have dual channel for the first (2+2)GB ram and single channel for the last 2GB

    2. No OC (2-3% hardly be considered OC) since the clock now is tied to everything, including the sata controller - you dont want to mess with sata clocks.
The only OC you can have is the TurboBoost 2.0 feature which is an automated process based on monitoring tdp/temp and increasing the multiplier accordingly.
i5-2467m has a base clock of 1.6GHz, max clock with 1 core 2.3GHz, max clock with 2 cores 2.0GHz

    3. Normal block charger is what i got too, but i'm more bothered with the bulky AC cable than with the AC adapter itself. Why they need the bulky 3 pins/wires cables for a 90w charger? it beats me

Heh never heard of Flex Mode, very handy.

Well there are overclock options in the BIOS for adjusting the BCLK from 99.7MHz, is it not able to handle much more than that or what?

aye, but it will adjust to what? 102.5? :)

i wouldn't bother, especially when at stake is data integrity and general stability (SATA/pci-e controllers will ran on the same frequency)

Ah, OK. Just confused cos i was able to raise the BCLK of my R2's i7 to 150MHz.

    Cheers bro.

1 more thing - I uninstalled the Wireless display app cos i'm never going to use it, but after reboot my wireless wasn't working at all. did a system restore to bring it back, and all is fine. Are all of the wireless apps really tied to the WiFi drivers?
