Please post your driver when you play starcraft 2 and tell me if you ever had a BSOD/system crash while playing SC2.

    nvidia 270.61
    160hz w/turbo
    ThrottleStop to 30/30

    Average 50-60fps

I've never had a crash, but recently during each game I experience at least one severe drop in frame rate that lasts for a good minute or so.

I haven't experienced this before and don't know what triggered it. I tried overclocking my GPU but it made no difference

How did you guys update your drivers? Did you just use the installer? Or did you do a clean install in which you delete registry keys and old drivers with a driver sweeper?

I use the installer. Click Custom Installation then Clean Install.

overclocking the gpu will make an exceptional difference in a gpu based game, not a cpu based game.

This can't be true. These drivers, except for 260.99 will crash when playing Starcraft II and Warcraft III. Did you guys who posted here, even read that this question was directed to Starcraft II players?
