So I have decided to get back to PC game this week and bought Skyrim and the new batman title. I am totally shocked that these two games would not even smoothly on my machine on low setting with every effect disabled!

I searched over internet and found people seem to have no problem with these two games on their R1.

I have disabled the graphic switch and installed the latest driver from nvidia. I remember I have optimized the machine using the knowledge learned from a thread on this forum and it does not seem to help. I did not OC since the machine is super hot after a hour of gaming without even OC.

What have I done wrong? How can I fix it?

Try this thread. I don't play that game, but they say they got it working, and if anyone can help you they can.

Yes check that thread out, but for starters make sure you have the nvidia GPU enabled! (Fn+F6) Also, check out the Skyrim nexus, there is a mod that claims to optimize the CPU in the game for better FPS. Not sure if it works but give it a shot.

Well given your specs...you're not going to be able to run it quite that good anyways. maybe 20-30 fps take or give.

You should try updating your nvidia drivers, set settings on low to medium, enable overclock for the processor...power options set to high performance and that'll give you the best results. turn off aa/af and vysnc off in the nvida panel also.

Also close any other programs that are running on the icon tray or in the background.

I run skyrim on high at ~30 fps :D so the r1 can definetly do it.

I have the R1 with the SU4100 processor and can run Skyrim at 20-30 fps no problem. As you pointed out, I believe you are overheating

Correct. OC the CPU in the BIOS menu and OC the GPU with the program MSI Afterburner. Use the OC 550/1350/875, that works for most people and with most games, If not, bring it down slowly a little bit at a time untill you are stable (I.e. not crashing while you play) But to play on high you cant install the Skyrim 1.3 patch, instead do this: GameSpy: Top Five Mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Page 1 The 4th one down the Skyrim performance mod, its what lets me play on High better than what I was playing on medium without it! The 1.3 patch makes it not work though :(
