I'm thinking of buying the M11x, at the minute Dell UK have the R1 and R2 both on offer. Both have 4GB ram, 500 GB hard drive and Bluetooth, the only the difference is the processor (SU7300 or i7) and the price (£160). Given that apart from gaming (mainly NWN 1 & 2, Dungeon Seige 1 &2 and Oblivion) I mainly use Microsoft office, surf the internet and email, so is the extra oomf of the i7 really required or do I save myself £160?

I am also concerned with potential hinge problems as reported on this board. I know the Alienware quality rep on the board has said this has been cured but what are peoples recent experiences?

    Many thanks in advance

    Martin

Required? No. if I was only playing older games like what you listed and using MS applications, it is a no brainer to get the cheaper of the 2. I say this because I don't think you'll see any increases, anywhere.
