    Hi there

I am selling my R1 to a friend and he wants it so he can play MW3 on the go. Do you think the R1 (OC) will run it fine?

    thanks!

Well, the game is out in 5 days or so.... so you will know more info then :)
OP, IMO just wait til your friend buys the game, then let him try it on your laptop. Probably the best way to go.

The minimum spec says E6600. How does this compare to Su7300? I would be very happy indeed if the R1 can run MW3!

The problem with Black Ops was how poorly it was optimized. People with power house rigs had lag problems online when it was released last year. The R1 should be fine for MW3.

The CPUs are close enough. CPU doesn't really matter all that much in most games, because you pretty much only need to make sure that your CPU is "good enough" to run that game. Your gaming performance depends on the GPU more than any other component in your computer.

Modern Warfare 3 should run fine. It uses the same game engine at the other Call of Duty games, and those ran fine on an Alienware M11x.

But as M11x_ftw had recommended, I would wait a few days and just let your friend try Modern Warfare 3 on your laptop. Because if for whatever reason he buys your laptop early, and then later finds out that Modern Warfare 3 runs poorly, he's going to be very upset. And that is not a situation that I would personally want to put my friend through.
