I just wondered if it will hurt the battery or computer to use the R1 PS (60-65w?) On the R2 (90w).

What's the actual voltage and amp rated on the adapters? Is wattage mentioned?

It will not hurt your computer.

Almost every model of Dell computers made in the past 10-15 years uses a standard power connector design (which is AWESOME. HP, Sony, Apple, pay attention). You can freely interchange these power adapters, since they all use the same size power plug to plug into the laptop itself.

If you take an underwatt power supply and plug it into a more demanding laptop (e.g. M11x R1 65W adapter --> M11x R2 90W laptop), you may get some warning after the BIOS saying how the wattage is incorrect. Your laptop will function, but the battery may not charge. This does not damage your laptop, just reduces either the performance of the laptop or its battery charging capability.

If you take an overwatt power supply and plug it into a less demanding laptop (e.g. M11x R2 90W adapter --> M11x R1 65W laptop), then the laptop will automatically adjust the incoming voltage to make sure nothing gets damaged.

Thanks. have 2-3 of these for the R1. One at home, one at work and one in backpack. Good thing I don't need 3 more. Will keep the 90w one at home for gaming :)

Edit: Oh and I got the bios warning, it said that charging would take longer. Just needed to know.

Yeah, you won't have any issues except that it may not charge or be very slow to charge. I interchange my R2 power brick with the Dell D630 I have from work.
