I'm curious as to the difference between the Dell hybrid drivers and the 260.99 + Intel 2020 driver released in this forum.

Strictly from release dates, the community hybrid driver was released in November and the Dell one (197.12, P03) in March of 2010, so instinctively the community one sounds new and shiny! :D

But back to my question, what's the difference between the two?

    Thanks in advance! :D

Intel 2020 supports IE9 GPU acceleration, however none of the DELL hybrid drivers do as they only support Intel 1994.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Now firefox has the same gpu acceleration correct? Will the community hybrid drivers only show benefit when using the integrated GPU, or with both integrated and the 335M GPU?

I'm trying to figure out if this is something I want :)

nVidia GT335M has no problems enabling GPU acceleration for the most common browsers. Now the browser uses that GPU acceleration is another issue.

Intel GMA is a bit more picky. IE9 won't work with Intel GMA 1994 and there's no work around that I know of. It is enabled in Intel GMA 2020.

Firefox is fine, as it can be forced to work with Intel GMA 1994, but will natively work with any Intel GMA over 2202

There isn't any show stoppers, with the DELL hybrid drivers for M11xR1.

The only thing is that Windows Update and other software may chase you to upgrade to a higher version of Intel GMA as 1994 is REALLY old now.
