okay is that 200$(more like 150$) worth the extra boost to i5? like is it a huge improvement? i know there was another thread like this one but I'm limited on money so if its not huge id like to use my extra money else where.

    R2 Pros
    - Optimus, it switches between your GPU and integrated seamlessly.
    - A bit more future proof with the faster processor. It is a good amount faster than the C2D.
    - Later release date so that means a refurb you get is possibly less old than any refurb R1 you get.
    - Price difference isn't that much anymore for an i5 to C2D. With the many good discounts it's more worth it.

    R2 Cons
    - Optimus can be a bit finicky sometimes requiring you to manually have to white list applications.
    - Slightly higher temperatures. Idle around 45-50c.
    - Less battery life.

    R1 Pros
    - Lower idle temperature.
    - Hours more battery life.
    - Cheaper.

    R1 Cons
    - Less future proof.
    - Manually have to switch between graphic modes.
    - If you buy it refurb you have a greater chance of getting one made from the beginning of last year.
    - Not much less.
    - Lower clock speed unless you do a pinmod which is risky and voids your warranty.

I got my i5 R2 refurb last week and liking it so far. Loaded 7 Pro and doing other tweaks now. It was this or an iPad and that can't do everything I want.

I got an m11x R2 refurb about 2 months ago. ( the one in my sig ) I love it.

Put it this way, if it's a refurb ( it could of had any problem ) and it was fixed, it's probably been through a more thorough inspection since it was "broken" at one point.

I think mine had a cracked hinge previously because my hinges are really solid. Feels super sturdy and tight. (plus I'm extra careful after what I've read here lol)

So in other words, if it had a problem, it was already taken care of and you dont have to deal with it. :) (and your not polluting the earth with extra technology -____- )
