Well, first of all, im new here and i think this is a great forum with a lot of guys ready to help anyone and i like that
I have an M11xR2 stock with 4gb ram and 320gb of HDD and i was thinking on changing the wireless card and the HDD.
for the wireless i was thinking on the intel 6300 or 6200
for the HDD i was thinking on a SSD, the Vortex 2 or the Crucial c300, but really dont know if the m11x supports sata3 (or maybe the seagate momentus xt 500gb)
now... i use my computer to work for the university using the adobe softwares and some programing stuff, i use it for gaming and for DJ
so... i have 2 options that i just think about
1: buy an SSD and the wireless (cos i hate the DW1520) and use an external drive for al my DJ music and stuff
2: buy the seagate drive, the wireless and upgrade the ram to 8gb and no external drive (need sugestions about which ram i could use).
thx!!!!

Dont get the c300. First you wont be able to fully use the 300+ read speeds on it, and its a battery killer. The vertex 2 is a much better option.
You dont need 8gb of ram either, 4gb is plenty so id hold off on that. -
ok, so the m11x isnt sata3, take the c300 out of the list
about the 8gb of ram, i have to make videos and stuff that need a lot of ram, i can survive with 4gb, but with 8gb (on my last desktop) i had some problems making a movie in 1080p with a lot of effects and it only last 20 mins... thats why -
I would skip OCZ right now. http://forum.notebookreview.com/sol...sds-customers-not-happy-over-lack-change.html

good to know that.... i think ill go for the momentus xt and the ram... SSD vs Hard Drives: A Beginner's Guide to SSD Upgrades i can see here that it isnt a big difference.
and the ram its a pc3-8500 or pc3-10600?
about the wireless card, it is a big upgrade?

?????
so, the ram and the wireless?? -
can i get an answer of what ram supports the m11xr2 please?
-
It doesn't matter what RAM you put, it will be downclocked to 400mhz. So PC3-8500/10600/12800/+ will all work.

downclocked to 400mhz!!!!!???? why so low??? that sucks
-
You're effectively getting PC3-6400 memory with the downclock. If you overclock the bus, you can get the I/O clock up to 500mhz, which will be close to PC3-8500 (but not quite, since real PC3-8500 operates at 533mhz).
Bottom line is don't worry about which memory you choose (as long as it's not PC3-6400, but I doubt you can find any to buy anyway). -
that sucks, why so low???
