My m11x R1's cable malfunctioned and need to buy a new cable. i was wondering if anyone has gone from a 65w to a 90w
if so has there been any defects or know about issues with a higher wattage and amps.

found this charger i know it works because i have tried it but not sure about long term issues, any feed back is helpful.

As long as the voltage is the same, you can use any adapter 65W and larger. I frequently use my M11x on a 230W adapter and also a 90W adapter with no issues at all. There will be no long term issues with using chargers of higher wattages as current is drawn, not supplied. Basically meaning a 1000W adapter will only run at 65W if that is what the device requires.

They will probably be bigger than the 65w as well. So less portable with no gain in performance.

I would check out the dell auto air travel charger.

Its 65watts, and very very slim. Comes with adapters to plug into a car, or airplane, or your wall outlet. Plus has a few length of cable if you only need a short adapter, or a long one.

    Nice!

Have you personally used it without any slowdowns when gaming?

I have been using one for over 2 years with my r1. Works great. It does emit a high pitched noise when charging the battery though, but that just started.

I don't mind a charger that's a little bit bigger. I'm in college and it doesn't bother me at all. and i also have different length 3 prong cables for the dell chargers 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, and a 6ft just kept them as i found or had them.

Actually while using the 90w for a short period of time my GPU actually ran smoother while playing games. i could run game on a higher setting without lag or glitching. kinda odd, but i switched back to the standard Dell 65w that comes with an M11x (my friend also has an M11x) and my games glitched a lagged so i had to go back to the lower settings.....

Yeah, some of them are even HP chargers. All the same voltage :)

Does it lag for you when running on battery only?

I never notice lag when I'm only on battery. But I only play non-taxing games and have it on All-Nvidia All-The-Time.

No it runs better on battery then when I use a 65w charger cable. My cable just screws with my m11x, but with the 65w I can't run games as high as I can with the 90w. Well basically I can really run games at all when using my 65w. But there is a difference in performance between a working 65w and 90w that I can see on my m11x

Will the higher wattage cause the battery to overheat?

You shouldn't have any issues with that. No worries.
