I was wondering what the 3 power settings mean... power saver, balanced and high performance... does high performance put the processor at max power?

If you go in to the power options you can change what each profile does. I have Power Saver set to bare minimum on everything, Balanced as low graphics but high CPU (This stops the fans kicking in) and Max Performance as everything cranked up.

You can set the CPU power, graphics, wifi, screen etc in each.
