I am trying to OC the GPU...(never done it before) and I can't seem to find a stable setting. I downloaded the EVGA Precision graphic tuner and the last setting I tried was 510/1200/870 but the Mafia 2 demo crashed after 5 mins. Also the laptop wasn't even shutting down properly and got stuck in the "shutting down" screen for 10 mins. So can anyone help me out with a good stable OC for the GPU?

    thanx

Mine does exactly the same thing with EVGA Precision, even on a fairly lite GPU OC setting like yours. It also happened a few times when I was playing Left 4 Dead 2, so yesterday I downloaded MSI Afterburner. I haven't had time to try it out yet but I'm not sure that it will change anything.

Oh well, may as well give it a go...

    Another vote for MSI Afterburner.
550 / 1320 / 920 no problems. Cooling can even stay up with this and the FSB at 160 on my R2.

    550 / 1320 / 900 with MSI afterburner. Runs great for hours.

The same with eVGA precision crashed 2 minutes into Mafia.

Yeah, I've been using MSI Afterburner on Mafia II with no problems.

It works far better than EVGA Precision did for me so I definitely recommend MSI to anyone that has had any issues with EVGA.
