Can I get a deal or anything if I order over the phone instead of online? I'm hoping for a back to school special or something. I am from Canada and the US website has back to school deals but the Canadian one doesn't. Is it worth calling?

For my M11x R2, I went with the free processor upgrade (US only I think, sorry mate), then, when my EPP didn't get anywhere, I tried seeing if the DPA got me anything.

Seeing as I have credit history, I couldn't actually sign up. Still, when I told the Rep that I tried signing up, and that it was rejecting me, he got his manager, who got his manager, and they gave me 50$ off just for trying. With the promotion I used, I ended up saving like 250$.

Be sure to call Dell :)

I am from Canada as well and I did consider ordering it from the US. However, I wasn't too sure how the basic limited warranty would work if I got it from the US.

if you order over the phone and talk with a sales rep you can haggle with them and such.

If I buy another computer from dell, I'll do it over the phone. I ordered online and got a helluva deal, but not being able to call a person and getting stuck in the phone tree of doom with no information is not an experience I would wish on anyone.

The worst that can happen is they tell you no.

Mods, given that a "I'm ordering soon" topic comes up every other day or so- do you suppose we could get a sticky? Maybe a directory at the top of the page that indexes threads like overclocking, cases, battery life, etc?
