    Hi,

Could anyone tell me if its possible to disable the bluetooth or wireless LAN separately apart from device manager / bios?

Basically when I use the wireless button on the m11x it also disables my WWAN, Bluetooth and WLAN...

Is there anything like sony software that allows you to select which you would like to disable?

    Thanks
    Mr_DoughBoy

I have been wondering the same thing. Its slightly annoying that I can't have my Bluetooth on when the WWAN and WLAN is off.

I don't have a bluetooth in mine, but have you guys tried turning off the WiFi in Windows Mobility Center? Just press Start+X and try to disable it there. Maybe that won't disable the bluetooth.

Just posted this in another thread....

FN+F3 disables ALL wireless in the system. I've already sent a note to engineering asking if we could have some sort of enhancement to this feature in the future. If so, what would you guys want?

    State 1) All Wireless On
State 2) All Wireless Off (WLAN/WWAN/BT)
    State 3) WLAN & WWAN Off/BT On

That cover it? Don't know if they can do this, but worth checking for sure...
I know we have this on some of the Latitude systems...

I just tested the work-around that was posted below and sure enough, it works. Good find and great option for people to disable wireless but not the bluetooth..

As an FYI, Start-X is the same as the Windows Key + X.

I wouldn't classify as it as a great solution at all. It's really no more convenient than simply right clicking on the BT systray icon for enable/disable. From a useability standpoint it's not nearly as convenient the standard FN cycle/toggles that you've outlined. I'm really missing that on the M11x.

Lol... I think it's fine if the "disable BT" systray icon works. How is cycling and turning off your WiFi in the process more convenient

Because I'm very much a keyboard shortcut sort of person and every laptop I've used in the past 5 years has had a cycleable FN key combo that handles both the wifi and BT radios. It makes zero sense to have the FN+F2 button assume that you want to turn off both radios.

Having to unhide my BT systray icon, right-click it, selected turn off radio isn't slow, but it IS slower than FN key cycling.
