Hey guys. Curious as to what settings would optimize performance and better life when I am on GMA. I have been using wifi recently and noticed a dip in battery life vs. ethernet...is ~1.5-2hours less normal? Even if it is, what settings optimize video performance and battery in the Intel GMA settings?
    Thanks
    Art

WiFi takes a bit of power. As for the IGP, it depends on the game.

Only 1.5-2.0 hrs on Intel GMA?

First of all, turn off your backlit keyboard, then go into your power settings and change wifi to medium or low power if you are relatively close to the wireless access point.

With screen brightness @ ~30%, wifi @ medium, backlit keyboard off, and using Intel SSD I can achive over 8 hours battery with light web surfing.

If you're gaming on battery, I'd expect over 2 hours using nVidia and maybe 3+ with the Intel because you're probably not running a very intensive game if you're using the Intel IGP.

I think the OP meant 1.5-2 hours less than normal (no wifi). My experience with the m11xR1 tells me this is wrong, unless if he is surfing flash heavy sites, like youtube, lpga, nasdaq, or something...

I get about 4.5 hours w/Intel gfx and all other settings factory. Keyboard is still lighted and brightness on 20-30% (lowest bar in OSD but not the lowest setting I could go.)

flash hurts, don't it? :p I was speaking from my own R1 owernership experience. I don't think anything I did got around this, even disabling HW accell, it still tanked battery life :(
