    I have the ASUS blu-ray drive and I can do everything with just 1 usb plug.

    The point of 2 plugs is for all usb less than usb 2.0, which doesn't put out enough power so you need 2 plugs to supply enough power.

    Doesn't make sence why you need to sometimes use 2 ports.

    I thought it was odd too, but sometimes it wont read the dvds or even write the dvds.... so I plug in the other USB cable and it works then.

    I really want to get a new one though, something that is smaller.... Really wish those mini dvd's took off. Having a mini 3 inch dvd drive in the m11x could be do'able.

    I have this one too, and it works pretty well. I can highly recommend it in case that you need one; If you dont really need one, dont spend money on something you will not use a lot, 'cause you dont really need one for the m11x especially nowdays that everything is online.
